Word to the wise, though: I opted out of the health plan and I didn't even get a thank you note. But I did get some branded company swag as my holiday bonus, so far be it from me to complain.
My wife had a job for a long time where they did an "appreciation week" for her role. Umbrellas, backpacks, etc. Every year the gift got smaller and smaller and worse and worse until it was just a $5 gift card. Then no appreciation at all.
